Works great in our living room and bedroom! September 1, 2010 Michael Our DirecTV DVR is located in the living room along with our main TV. I decided to setup a smaller LCD in the bedroom, which is on the other side of our house. Initially, I ran the signal by connecting to the component outputs on the DVR, which immediately go to an RF modulator behind the DVR. From there the signal is sent over coax to the bedroom via crawlspace. The only drawback is that DRM movies require data from HDMI so I have to also turn on the living room TV in those cases. My next step (this month) is to run HD over ethernet to the bedroom, which will solve that problem.
Our DVR came with the IR remote. Obviously we wouldn't want to have to go to the living room to change channels, etc when we're watching in the bedroom. I didn't want to bother with IR repeaters if this route was available so I purchased this RF remote.
So far it has worked great. The only time I experience the delays others have mentioned is when the batteries in the remote are getting low. It's a good distance between rooms but we only have one floor and since it's an older house there's not much but some wood walls and a couple of fireplaces between the receiver and the remote.
I think one aspect that may work to our benefit is that we don't have the newer DVRs with the built-in antenna. Ours has the external antenna connection, which based on other reviews, seems to work better.
Setup was easy (I ignore manuals unless something looks complicated or I have problems). I think all I did was change the remote type on the DVR. Both TVs are from the same manufacturer so I can control the TVs using the same remote codes.
Great DirectV Remote August 30, 2010 J. Keeler (Clarksville VA USA) I've used this remote with almost all HD versions of the DirecTV receivers including the newest H24 and HR24. I really like how it is backlit and is RF capable. Also, the newest H24 remotes that ship with the H24 are not RF capable so this is a nice little upgrade.
Best remote for Direct TV period July 12, 2010 M. S. Emmanus (Cleveland, Ohio United States) worth the extra money, the backlight is the best feature of it all.. no more straining eyes to see buttons in dark..
wrong item May 27, 2010 Glenn W. Shoaf (oklahoma) I ordered a rc64 rbk and received a rc 64 which does no good for my rf receiver. I sent a email to funde001 and have NOT received any response. I am very disappointed.
This type of reaction makes me very questiionable of dealing with Amazon.com in future purchases.

Cheaper here than with DirecTV March 19, 2010 Deb I ordered this from DirecTV for $30 with the antenna. First of all, I didn't need the antenna--which is an extra $5 over the $25 remote by itself. And I discovered that they don't take any returns. So this is a much better deal all the way around.
Also, the instructions in the remote manual talk about a series of lights you have to wait for while programming. The on screen instructions didn't mention several of these lights, though! If you don't wait for all the flashing lights, your programming won't work. And since the lights sometimes take two or three seconds to flash, it's important to know to wait for them. (DirecTV sent me e-mailed instructions, too, and they were just like the on screen ones...without mention of the last few lights that you must wait for.) Hope this helps the next person to run into the issue.
But the remote works fine. And I was able to program two remotes for the same receiver. I just had to switch the receiver back and forth between RF and IR, then back to RF before it let me program the second remote for RF.
