Not the remote pictured November 17, 2008 My Old KY Home (Texas) The one I received is a Philips, 6 device, universal remote and it works great with my Magnavox TV but it is not the remote shown. I think I like mine better. The the number buttons are larger on mine and the volume and channel buttons are easy to locate in the dark because they are the largest of all buttons.
Works with my cable DVR October 22, 2008 Elaine Archibald (Mount Vernon, NY USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this as an extra because they are always disappearing in my house. Very easy to program and use.
It works January 10, 2007 Craig H. Morgan It is much more aesthetic and handy than the product-specific remote it replaced
Unbelievable functionality at low price March 22, 2005 Galileo Galilei (Frostbite Falls, MN USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I found this remote in a Walgreens store. It has unbelievable functionality for a cheap remote. I was able to program my TV, VCR, DVD, Hughes TiVo/DirecTV receiver, and audio receiver and customize the functionality of each unit on this remote.
The only con I've found is that the response time is a bit slow. This is only noticable for things like TiVo menus when one must scroll through lists, for example.
I'm going to buy a second remote for my upstairs TV & VCR!
I am a believer!! February 14, 2005 Simplicity Found (North Odgen, UT) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've never liked universal remotes. It seems like they can never power everything up or down properly on a system with multiple components, or that you lose functions from the original remotes. So when I got one for my birthday I was extremely skeptical. However, the next day I programmed the remote (a surprisingly quick process!), and it can now do EVERYTHING my other remotes did. It truly learns what you want it to. You can program individual buttons to a specific funstion very easily. I have a TV, VCR, DVD, Stereo, and Tivo all running off of this remote, and now I want another for the other system in my house.
I'd highly recommend this remote to anyone who currently uses multiple remote controls!!
