Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Apex Digital provides you with home entertainment solutions at a reasonable price. Technology, efficient processes, strategic partnering, and a focus on providing the consumer with the best value hallmark the success of Apex Digital.

Amazon.com
Apex's affordable PD-10 features a compact, 5.6-inch standard (4:3 aspect ratio) thin-film-resistor LCD, built-in speakers for headphones-free listening, and compatibility with DVD-Video, VCD/SVCD, audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3-encoded discs. Playback options include frame-by -frame slow motion, zoom, screen saver and multiple angle viewing (with applicable discs).

Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio output (through a .125-inch minijack-to-Toslink optical cable, not supplied) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. S-video and composite-video outputs simplify hookup with a home TV.

The PD-10 comes with an AC adapter, car kit, and a rechargeable battery pack good for about 300 charges. Each full recharge takes about three hours. A fully charged battery can power the unit for about three hours, though be aware that power consumption depends on the operations of the player, such as screen brightness, volume level, etc.

What's in the Box
Apex PD-10 portable DVD player, detachable 8.4V/4200mAh Ni-MH battery pack, cord for coupling battery to DVD player, AC-to-DC power supply, three-prong (grounded) AC power cord, car cigarette-lighter power cord, RCA male-to-male composite-video cable, RCA male-to-male stereo (left/right) analog audio cable, ear bud headphones with .125-inch stereo tip, 32-button credit-card remote with battery (CR2025).

4 out of 5 stars Apex DVD   August 18, 2009

I have the Apex DVD system and I think it is a great product for the price. It is great to take on a trip in the car or a plane. It fit conveniently in your backpack or purse and it plays DVD's wonderfully. The screen is just the right size to view your favorite movies and it is a lifesaver when it comes to playing kids DVD's on those long drives. The sound quality is good and I have had no problems with the way it works. The exterior look of it and the size are a definite plus and it is a great buy.

2 out of 5 stars Well, at least mine last longer than the others...   August 12, 2006

I received this player as a gift over 3 years ago. The remote has never worked quite right and I typically had to be no less than 4 inches from the screen in order for it to work. I just figured that since it was a portable player, it wasn't meant to function across a small dorm room. Apparently the engineers didn't factor in the possiblity of using this to play DVDs on a regular tv. Let me just say now that the DVD player received very little use until this year. Within 3 months of increased usage - what my friends still term sub-normal - it has completely died. The warrenty's been expired, so I'm not going to bother paying to send it off.

I purchased two of these for each of my daughters and they both use theirs almost daily and I haven't had any problems with either of them. Everything works and the display is great for the price~!! I am extremely happy with the value of these items.

I just want to warn you about this companies equipment. They don't stand behind it at all. So far I have owned 2 of their prodects and neither one has lasted 1 year. Unfortunately, their warentee is for 90 days. This Portable DVD players battery never worked (I brought 3 of them back before I got one that worked and that one stopped working after 40 days...and the batteries only warenteed for 30 days). This company does not stand behind their products and their customer service...well I guess they call it that...is useless. Trust me...don't buy anything from them. Save your money!!!
