Poor Volume June 14, 2009 J. Cheek (Florida) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I too, purchased this product to use in a RV, and while sitting less than 7 feet from unit volume is not enough. Retailer advised me (after purchase)that this size TV should be used as a monitor or with a home theatre system. Sharp customer support was not supportive by saying that that is the way they make their product. Each speaker is only 1.5 watts...too little for anything. I suggest buying a product from another Mfg that cares about their customer.
nice but incomplete February 6, 2009 Daniel Gamber (Washington, DC United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A nicely designed TV/DVD player, but . . .
1. The QAM/ATSC tuner only goes to cable channel 125, not the standard channel 135. Connected directly to Comcast cable (no box) in DC I miss channels such as Fox HD that are above 125.
2. No flashback (last channel) button
3. No TV guide function
All of which is irrelevant if you use it as a monitor attached to a cable/satellite/FIOS box, or off the air.
Good buy January 31, 2009 DaisyMarie 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've had this unit for about 6 months. I'm very happy with it, but I'd be even happier if I'd got it at the $100 reduced price it's going for now. Unlike some LCD monitors, the sound is fine. The only time I have trouble is with some channels. It's the channel that has diminished sound because commercials come in LOUD and clear. Good position of controls on top. Good angle vision. Dvd is good too. So easy to use. I did a lot of research online before selecting this model. I'm satisfied with my choice.
Should have listened January 21, 2009 K. Sakai (Maui, HI, USA) 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
Should have listened to a previous review that warned of an abnormal volume control. Turned up all the way I still can't hear it very well!! Stay away from Sharp products!
Great TV - Great Customer Service December 31, 2008 Hildegard2002 (Massachusetts) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This TV was a Christmas gift from family. It's perfect in a small room. The picture is clear. The sound is excellent. At first we had trouble doing a channel scan. I called customer service on a Saturday and got a service representative very quickly. She patiently talked me through the one little step we were missing. Thanks to her help I now get about 10 digital channels. There is one major station that keeps saying "low signal" and won't come in. But I think that's because of our area. We will be adding cable access to this part of our house soon.
