Amazon.com Product Description
Perfect for the bedroom or kitchen or sending off with your college student to his or her dorm room, the AOC International A17W221 17-inch LCD TV is ready for high definition telecasts and can double as a PC monitor. Slim and stylish, the A17W221 comes with a stand but can also be wall-mounted for even more counter-top space saving (VESA 100mm wall mount compliant). It has a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner and it's capable of displaying high definition TV signals with an optional receiver. It features a 1268 x 768 resolution and a 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio for optimal letterbox movie watching and compatibility with 1080p/720p/480p/480i HD formats. It also features a wide 170-degree viewing angle, 25 ms (millisecond) response time, brightness rating of 450 cd/m2 (candela per square meter, and 600:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.)

An adaptive 4H comb filter allows improved Y/C separation, helping to clean up image outlines and eliminate extraneous colors. The 3:2 pulldown cinema video processing feature detects and compensates film--which is shot at 24 frames per second (fps) compared with video's 30 fps rate--to video for a smooth theater-like experience at home. Other TV features include picture-in-picture (PiP) capability, V-Chip parental control, and sleep timer.

This TV has a pair of built-in stereo speakers that produce 5 watts per channel (10 watts total). It offers the following video and audio connections:

  • Composite AV (RCA): 1 in

5 out of 5 stars great value   November 20, 2006
Doobie
This is a great TV. I got it from a site that wasn't amazon for under 350 dollars. I personally think that the picture is really great for the price. I use it mostly for gaming, and my PS2 games that support progressive scan look awesome on the TV. There is no image lag or anything like that. Also, the TV is nicely designed, and is perfect for my college dorm room. Maybe once I get a PS3 in a few years then I can really test out the HD...
